I’ve also been delving into David Sheppard’s new Eno biography ‘On Some Faraway Beach’ and Chris Connelly’s autobiography ‘Concrete, Bulletproof, Invisible & Fried’. I can barely remember standing next to his mother at a Revolting Cocks show in Glasgow way back when, and her turning to me and whispering ‘this is all very well, but sometimes I wish he’d just joined the civil service’.
